Session Update - October 8, 2026

The Session and Diaconate met together in a stated Consistory meeting over dinner.

• RE Rogers led the elders and deacons in a brief devotional on Servanthood from Philippians 1-2 and John 13.

• The Consistory received updates on significant needs within the congregation and various other matters as information, including the status of deacon candidates entering the final phases of training.

• The elders shared some of the insights gleaned at their recent retreat.

• DE Erichsen stated the Diaconate’s intention to solicit a special offering from the congregation for the Deacon Assistance Fund since there have been several members needing assistance for counseling over the past several months.

• The next stated Consistory meeting will be Thursday, November 12, 2026.

The Session convened afterward in a stated meeting.

• Arden Dahl led a devotion on Psalm 62:1-7.

• The Session received various shepherding and care team reports and discussed urgent shepherding needs. The Session entered a season of prayer for these and other congregational needs.

• The Nursery Team will coordinate with the Senior Pastor to hold a nursery training session during Sunday School in December.

• The elders received a report from the commissioners to the October 1, 2026, meeting of the Tidewater Presbytery.

• The elders discussed various matters of importance in the church.

• The next stated Session meeting will be Thursday, November 12, 2026.
