Welcome!

Calvary Reformed Presbyterian Church is affiliated with the Presbyterian Church in America. In a day when many denominations and churches have departed from or compromised the Scriptures, we unashamedly confess God's Word to be true and relevant for our day.

No Evening Gathering Sunday, June 28 Elders are having small group meetings with their shepherding families.

Riverside Convalescent Center  -- An opportunity for service will be provided next Sunday, July 6, with our church’s monthly worship service at Riverside Convalescent Center.  Helpers are needed at 2:30 p.m. to assist residents to the 3 o’clock service.  If you have questions, contact Bill Griffin.

2008 Worldview Student Conference
will be held July 7 - 12 for 10th graders through college age at Christopher Newport University.  This conference will help covenant youth grow deeper in their Christian walk and
help build a comprehensive Biblical worldview.

CRPC Adult Members Invited to CWSC lectures and worship services the week of July 7-12. All sessions will be held in the small auditorium in the Ferguson Center for the Arts. Schedules and lecture/sermon titles are available on the Commons Table.

Session Business Summary -- This is available for January – May of this year and was included in last week’s bulletin. For any who were not present, this summary is on the table in the Commons.

Annual Labor Day Retreat at the Jamestown 4-H Center, will soon be upon us. Look for more details and registration forms on the table in the Commons next Sunday. The retreat will begin on Friday evening, August 29th, with our traditional devotions and bonfire, and close on Sunday evening, August 31st. If you have any questions, call Mark or Carole Kroll.

Retreat Pictures Needed --  In the Commons is a CRPC retreat board and we need your pictures from past retreats! We will be voting for the funniest, most embarrassing, most fun, most relaxing, best talent, and most daring. Please bring in your pictures, who knows; maybe your picture will win a prize…. Thanks!”

Trinity Hymnals are available Sunday morning to be given to the Kims and McConnells and you are asked to record your name and favorite hymn in back of the hymnal. These hymnals are located on the table in the Commons.

CCS Teaching Positions -- teaching in a Reformed classical Christian school is a very rewarding experience. CCS has positions for first grade afternoon, third grade, and fifth grade teachers. Maybe God is calling you to apply for one of these positions?  For more information, call the school office at 262-0062.

JULY 4th Picnic event is cancelled this year.

Adult Sunday School Classes June 8 Through August -- Ed Kline, Matt Erichsen, Dan Ridenour and John Livingstone will lead "Great Men and Women of the Bible" by R. C. Sproul.  We need authentic heroes.  The Old Testament prophets and patriarchs, and those key people that God used in New Testament times are indeed heroic and exemplary models for us today. This series captures the drama and realism of the lives of some of the most exciting men and women who have ever lived.  This class will meet in the auditorium.   See the Sunday School page for more information.

SCRIP Orders -- are due in the CCS office by noon July 14th.  For further information, please contact Tammy Shenk at 262-0062. Wal-Mart and Farm Fresh gift cards are always available in the school office.

Help Update Church Directory -- A proposed new church directory is on the table in the Commons.  Please check for any changes that need to be made for you or your family members.

Shepherding Visits, 2008 --  Instead of specific questions as used in years past, this year’s visits will be on topics.  The topics to be covered are personal sanctification, family relationships, church participation and relationships, relationships outside the church, and ways to improve the church’s ministry.

Prayer Chain --  If you would like to be added to the CRPC phone or e-mail prayer chain, please contact Annette Holloway.

The CRPC Photo Board is being updated! If you do not have a picture of your family on the board or you would like a new picture please see Paula Krasowski. She will be available after the Sunday school hour to take pictures at the front of the auditorium. You may also submit a 4x6 family picture instead of having a picture taken.

CRPC's Calvary Herald online newsletter is currently featuring 4 new book reviews by Byron Snapp:  1)  When Sinners Say “I Do”: Discovering the Power of the Gospel for Marriage by Dave Harvey; 2)  The Man of Sin: Uncovering the Truth About the Antichrist  by Kim Riddlebarger; 3)  John Williamson Nevin: High Church Calvinist by D.G. Hart; 4)  Let Christ Be Magnified: Calvin’s Teaching for Today by J.H. Merle D’ Aubigne. Many other articles and book reviews are available as well, and are listed by topic or by date.  These are available on www.calvaryherald.com. If you would like a paper copy, please contact the church office.

Facilities Use Request Reminder -- When use of the church building or grounds is needed, to avoid conflict or confusion, please fill out a Facilities Use Request Form.  To insure availability, submit your form early and have it approved by your deacon.  If your request is repetitive, the deacons ask that you submit your requests annually.  The forms, including instructions, are located in the secretary's office.
